pillows on parade.

Sherri over at A Quilting Life is graciously hosting a pillow parade today!  Using Lori's new half hexie rulers, Sherri created a tutorial showing how to make a pillow. 

I had so much fun creating my scrappy pillow!  The rulers are fabulous and I can hardly wait to get started on my next hexie project!!   Thank you Lori for your lovely rulers and thank you Sherri for your fabulous tutorial!

Here is a snippet of what the pieces looked like before sewing my rows together, using 2 1/2" squares rather than cutting half hexies from a charm squares.

 

I used an envelope style to encase the pillow form.  I have saved this fabric over a year, for just the right project.  I believe I found it!

My little half hexie pillow makes me smile, and here it is amongst my wee collection of handmade pillows.  They are nestled on a bench that Woody and I made several years ago, from a cast off twin headboard and foot board.  Seriously, cast off is putting it nicely, I found it on the side of the road while heading out to do some grocery shopping.  I am so glad I picked it up!
