mapquest, Joann fabrics, a little stitching

Aren't fellow bloggers the absolute best?  Always looking out for each other and very quick to lend a helping hand.  I just love this community!!  I am so proud to be a part of it!! 
After posting about a Joann fabric store not being found in the state of Mississippi (our current home), Mary over at The Tulip Patch left a comment stating that there "is" a Joann fabrics in Mississippi.  It is in Meridian.  So I did a quick map quest search with my address as the starting point and dear sweet Joann as my destination.  And guess what I found ... it is a 2 hour and 7 minute jaunt from here.  That is a little bit out of my driving range on a regular day, however, it is there.  And I can drive to it if need be.  :o)  That makes me so happy and most grateful for the "inside scoop".  Thanks a million Mary!!  You're the best! 
In all seriousness ... I am thinking about speaking with someone in Joann fabrics who will lend me their ear, to bring a store in, a little bit closer.  Say Hattiesburg!  That town is constantly growing (it is huge) and a whole lot closer for us folks down at the southern end of the state.  Wish me luck!!

I could not leave this post with out a picture.  So I will show you my evening stitches.  I am taking my time, no real deadline (I do want it out for fall, so it can't take too long), and really just enjoying the process, on a much smaller scale.  I bought the charm pack from Jodi at Pleasant Home.  She has a sweet etsy shop with plenty of patterns and the option to purchase the fabrics, already cut to the needed dimensions.

I just love this brown perle 8 thread!  I have not hand quilted with anything but white and a while back I ordered a few colors to play with (from Joann.com).  I will show you the completed table topper when it is finished.
